Medical Charity Fund

Penang Adventist Hospital has been actively involved in charity work since its early beginnings in 1924. Through the hospital's development over the years, charity work has never stopped. Setting up the Heart Patients' Fund in 1988 was just another step in the hospital's growing dedication to better-serving the less fortunate.

Medical Social Services

Increasing its commitment to the community, the hospital hired a Medical Social Officer in the beginning of 1997 to attend to, investigate and report on charity cases in Penang Adventist Hospital. A Charity Fund Committee was also formed to carefully determine the worthy poor patients.

Medical Social Officer

The Medical Social Officer is here to better serve the needs of those applying for charity help. Under the direction of the Medical Social Officer, the department of Medical Social Services assist patients and/or patients' relatives to remove and reduce obstacles when seeking healthcare treatment in our hospital by showing God's love and providing financial, emotional and social support.

The Medical Social Officer liaises with doctors, nurses, other health professionals, as well as community resources and welfare agents in providing solutions for patients who are unable to meet medical costs.
