Free Haircuts For Gift Of Life Receipients From Cambodia (October 18, 2001)

PENANG, Wed: The Rotary Club of Penang provided free haircuts to 11 Cambodian children who have undergone corrective heart surgery under the Gift of Life programme at the Penang Adventist Hospital.

Rotarian Lloyd Yeoh, who is also the CEO and director of Hair & Beauty Private Collection, gave free haircuts to the children at the hospital’s lecture hall.

Also present was club president Michael Chen and the hospital’s development coordinator Rachel Phoon and public relations manager Cheah See Lin.

The Gift of Life programme is a joint project between the Rotary International, the Rotary Club of Penang and the Penang Adventist Hospital.

To date, 28 Cambodian, 10 Malaysian and two Indonesian children have undergone corrective heart surgery at the hospital under the programme.

The programme was first launched in 1975. It aims to reach out to needy children from developing countries.
