Ten Malaysian children will be given the opportunity at a new lease of life thanks to the Heart Patients’ Fund and the Wong Keng Fei Fund who contributed a RM100,000 and RM50,000 towards Operation HeartBeat, that aims to provide free surgeries in conjunction with World Heart Day, celebrated on 25 September this year, as well as Wong’s tenth death anniversary.

The free surgery would be made available for needy children aged between one and 18 years through this project which will run till the end of September.

Those interested in applying for full sponsorship under this project are required to complete an application form available at PAH. A committee comprising representatives from the two funds will vet all applications and make the final selection of the ten children who are to benefit from this project.

A committee with representatives from each fund shall vet all applications.

Mending hearts and changing lives has been an ongoing project for the hospital. Well-wishers who want to donate and make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate may send their donations by crossed cheque payable to the “Heart Patients’ Fund” and may specify “Operation HeartBeat” at the back of the check.
