Penang Adventist Hospital

We had a swinging-good time at Bukit Jambul Country Club last Sunday, July 9th at our first 2006 Charity Golf Classic tournament. A good number of golfers turned up to support the event, in aid of Dr J Earl Gardner Fund. Invited golfers include our major sponsors like GE Healthcare, Hunza Properties, B. Braun Medical Supplies and HSBC Bank.

The game started when TYT Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato' Seri Utama (Dr.) Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abbas Yang Di Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang teed off at about 8.30 a.m.

Dato’ Mohr, our President/CEO, and the Chairman of the tournament, joined in the game together with TYT, Dato’ Khor Teng Tong from Hunza Properties and Supt Gan. The weather was great with blue skies and gentle breeze.

Lunch and award presentation took place at the golfers’ terrace after the game. We were looking forward for a hole-in-one winner but no one got lucky that day. Hole-in-one prizes include a Nissan Sentra 1.3, Crazy Fit Massage, return flight ticket to London by Emirates and Adventist Wellness Centre programme.

The grand prize winner went to Vinsent Tean, who won a return business class ticket to Hong Kong. The second prize, a return economy class ticket to Hong Kong was won by Yazid Ahmad. Both prizes were sponsored by Cathay Pacific.

We also had another 18 prizes for the best golfers and three novelty prizes. About 45 lucky draw winners walked away with good prizes.

Among them were 3D/2N stay at Swiss Garden Resort and Spa, complimentary golf flight vouchers, hotel stays, hampers, Golf Magazine 12-month subscription, free entry tickets to Lost World of Tambun, Bosch mini drill, golf umbrellas & golf cover sets sponsored by DHL Malaysia and Adventist Wellness Centre programmes.

The event raised about RM120,000. Thank you sponsors and supporters for making this event possible and a success. We are looking forward for our next tournament. Save the date for our second Charity Golf Classic!
