The Flu

Influenza is a respiratory infection caused by a virus. It is different and much more serious than a common cold.

Symptoms include fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, upper respiratory infection (a cold) and sore throat. It is transmitted by coughing and sneezing (airborne spread).

Illness may last several days to a week or more and complete recovery is expected. However, complications may lead to pneumonia or death in some people.

Who Should Receive Vaccine

  • Person aged> 50 years or older.
  • Patients with chronic medical conditions.
  • Adults and children with chronic cardiac or pulmonary disorders and chronic metabolic disease.
  • Travelers.
  • Healthcare workers capable of nosocomial transmission to patients.
  • Any person who wishes to reduce his/her chances.

Who Should Not Receive Vaccine

  • Anyone who is allergic to chicken egg (egg protein).
  • Pregnant women in their first trimester (first 3 months).
  • Pregnant women in their first trimester(first 3 months).
  • Anyone not feeling well.

Walk-in rete: RM75.00 per vaccination per person.

Early Bird rate: RM60.00 - Registration & Payment before 9th April 2004
