Diabetic Reversal Program
The Diabetic Reversal Program is a three-day live-in program
whereby confirmed diabetics can return to having a normal blood sugar with less
or no medication within three weeks of completely adopting the recommendations
and practices.
What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a disease that sets in when the body's carburetor
(pancreas) that regulates the fuel mixture for body function (sugar in the
blood) malfunctions. Insulin that is made by specialized cells in the pancreas
opens the cell locks (receptors) so that glucose can enter and give cells the
energy to do their work. Any extra sugar, starch or protein is converted into
fat. This fat is stored, along with other fat and is under the control of
insulin. This system prevents the pile up of sugar and fat in the blood and
also provides 'food' for hungry cells between meals.
In diabetes, a person either does not have enough insulin, the
specialized cells are not producing insulin, or his cells are resistant to the
action of insulin. The build up of sugar and fat in the blood causes many
complications - nerve damage, kidney failure, tissue damage, heart attacks,
blindness, stroke and many more. Diabetes affects affects a person for life.
It cannot be cured but can be kept under control.
Why Do You Need the Diabetic Reversal?
"Faulty genes load the gun and lifestyle pulls the trigger." We
may not be able to do much about the genetics part. However since it was
lifestyle and diet that brought on diabetes, we can reverse the lifestyle to
reverse diabetes. It sounds logical and has been shown to be true.
You need to reverse diabetes in order to:
- Prevent complications - amputations, blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks,
strokes etc.
- Have a better quality of life - no waking up in the middle of the night because of
a hypoglycemic attack.
- To save money - spend less money on medications and doctors visits.
- Enjoy a healthy life.
Facts and Figures on Diabetes in Malaysia and the World
The National Health and Morbidity Study in 1996 showed that in Malaysia, 1.6 to 1.8
million people are afflicted by diabetes. That is 8.3% of the population. More
than 90% are Type II or adult onset diabetes. Unfortunately 40-60% do not have the
typical symptoms of diabetes on diagnosis. Most Malaysians diabetics did not know
they had diabetes and a documented 20-30% of patients were found to have established
complications at the time when diabetes was first diagnosed. Diabetes affects 50
million of the 3 billion population in Asia. The International Diabetes Federation
projects 150 million sufferers by the year 2010.
The W.H.O. (World Health Organization) in 1994 estimated 46.9 million diabetes in Asia.
They forecast the number would rise to 126.2 million by the year 2010.
The numbers may show a difference but the evidence is plain for you to see. More and
more friends and relatives are being diagnosed as diabetics. With the recent review
in the criteria for diagnosing diabetes by the W.H.O., there has been an increase in
the number of diagnosed diabetics.
Who Should Attend the Program?
You should attend the program if you became a diabetic as an adult. You should attend
the program if you are still on oral hypoglycemic or on low doses of insulin. You
should attend if your doctor has told you that you have Type II diabetes.
If you would like to give yourself a chance of living as normal a life as possible,
