Interventional Radiological (IR) Procedures

Non Vascular Interventional Procedures

1. Percutaneous nephrostomy catheter insertion and Double-J stent placement

Insertion of the drainage catheter under ultrasound guidance using local anesthesia to relief the obstruction to the kidneys.



Nephrostomy catheter and double-J stent are noted in the right kidney.

2. Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram and catheter insertion

Insertion of the drainage catheter under ultrasound guidance to relief the bile ducts obstruction.

3. Percutaneous gastrostomy catheter insertion

Placement of the feeding tube via the skin without surgery.

4. CT or ultrasound guided biopsy

Taking biopsy tissue from almost any organ in the body by insertion the needle directly through the skin into the area to be biopsy under CT or ultrasound scanner guidance.

5. Percutaneous catheter insertion of pleural effusion, abscess and ascites for therapeutic or symptomatic relief.

6. Fallopian tubes recanalisation

Opening the blocked fallopian tubes due to previous infection or adhesion using very small tubes or microcatheter.

Recanalisation with a micro guidewire

Post recanalisation of both FT with peritoneal spillage

7. Percutaneous Vertebroplasty

Treatment of compression fracture of the vertebral body cause by osteoporosis and malignancy.
