This is a small device for you to bring home for a period of one to two weeks. It is used, as in Holter monitoring, to record your heart rhythm at the time you have symptoms such as fainting episodes, palpitation or giddiness. Holter monitoring only records the heart rhythm for 24-48 hours. If the abnormal heart rhythm occurs outside the recording time, it will not be detected. Trans-telephonic ECG allows one to record the abnormal rhythm over a longer duration.

Preparation

No specific preparation is required. All you need is to bring this small gadget everywhere you go. In the event of palpitation or fainting spells, quickly take it out and place it on the chest wall. You may return this gadget after a few recordings. Your cardiologist will review the recordings and inform you of the results.
