Orthopaedics

Most often the results of a mishap are not serious; however, many accidents do result in injuries ranging from minor to fatal. In such situations, the prevention of complications is of greatest importance and only a skilled specialist can detect early problems. An orthopaedic specialist is needed to assess and treat any person who is a victim of an accident. From the fractures in little children to replacement of joints in the elderly, an orthopaedic specialist is an important service provider in the medical field.

Anyone who has any lumps or bumps on the limbs, unexplained painfulness of the back or limbs and joint pains that last more than a week need to be checked out by an orthopaedic specialist. Besides arthritis and rheumatism, we now have another silent killer - osteoporosis, which is becoming more common in our society. The orthopaedic specialist provides detection and treatment of osteoporosis especially in the elderly.

Orthopaedic management includes rehabilitation of individuals recovering from skeletal injury, surgery or disease and is carried out with the assistance of the physiotherapist.

Emergency orthopaedic care is available 24-hours a day at the Emergency Room for all orthopaedic problems
